Job Description

The HR Test Consultant will be part of the LBG testing and UAT team currently based in the Birmingham LBG shared service centre. The key role is to assist the LBG SAP systems and testing team on Regression testing and Live & Usability testing. The HR Test consultant will work very closely with the project team business consultant within the LBG systems team.

To own, take responsibility and be accountable for allocated testing activities ensuring service excellence at all times – ensuring accuracy and on time delivery of the testing results.  To be a dedicated point of contact for specific project implementations and testing activities.

Identify improvements, contribute ideas and optimise service for your clients meeting individual, departmental and business objectives.


Main Responsibilities
The main responsibilities are listed below,

·       Maintain relevant test documentation in line with the client requirements
·       Deliver the work accurately and on a timely manner as agreed with the customer and specific business consultants within LBG
·       Analyse test cases ensuring they are fit for purpose and meet the requirement/ legislative change
·       Identify, select and prepare test data.
·       Schedule execution of scripts, analyses and documents test findings compared against the pre-determined test baseline and expected results
·       Perform regression testing duties by recording and capturing test objectives using agreed methods and standards as well as identifying skill gaps
·       Liaise with the client to maintain a good working relationship
·       Performs pre-post wellness testing when required
·       Reports differences or analysis to SMEs and business teams
·       Maintain and own test documentation according to the agreed procedures and standards
·       Ensure all test results are uploaded into relevant SharePoint location or into the ALM tool
·       Support and train other staff members ensuring that are comfortable with project/ change/ incident that’s they are testing
·       Maintain SharePoint / ALM documentation weekly
·       Provide accurate reporting to the business
·       Analyse and research change requirements to meet business needs
·       Attend regular calls with business analyst and SMEs to obtain clarification and provide comfort on projects and suggest best practices to achieve results
·       Availability on the telephone for any quick customer clarification or support

·       Highlight and escalate any risk identified and provide mitigation solutions

·       Provide support for customer change activities and its implementation

·       Update DWIs/ process instructions if required or as advised by the team leader or the customer contact/ stakeholders

·       This role would also require to assist other departments as per any business requirements or to ensure 100% resource utilization

About Us

Essential Skills

·       Experience working with LBG associated processes, applications or operations support

·       Experience using the Yourpay system, payroll experience and a Good understanding of testing methodologies

·       MS Office with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint with medium proficiency

·       Desirably, the candidate will possess qualifications relating to Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent proven experience in a similar environment.

·       Experience of working in a volume driven environment, working to tight deadlines with conflicting priorities

·       Preferably knowledge of structured test methods and processes (internal and external courses)

·       Self-motivated with a strong desire to continuously learn new skills

·       Fast learner and able to think on his/her feet, A team-player, and enjoys working with people of different culture and background

·       Able to work independently, be proactive and have a keen attention to detail

·       Flexible regarding working hours, including scheduled evening and weekend working, with a ‘stay till the job is finished’ attitude

·       Good organisation and time management skills

·       Ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines

·       The candidate should have the agility to work in different projects as per the change / testing requirements

·       The candidate should have flexibility in moving to different projects and work in multiple processes at the same time

·       Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills required as is self-awareness and attention to detail.

·       Excellent Customer Service skills

·       Ability to work with peers in other business areas in a similar role to support on sharing best practices and adapting new changes
